At InnerCircle, our Home Assistants are self-employed cleaning professionals introduced to homeowners through our membership and matching service. Each Home Assistant is carefully selected, personally known to us, and enhanced DBS-checked as standard.
Their role is to provide reliable in-home cleaning support, helping members maintain a clean, calm, and well-kept home environment.
What Home Assistants Can Do
Self-employed cleaning professionals can usually help with various domestic cleaning tasks such as:
- Vacuuming carpets and rugs
- Mopping hard floors
- Dusting surfaces
- Cleaning kitchens, worktops, sinks, and external appliance surfaces
- Cleaning bathrooms, toilets, showers, and sinks
- General tidying of rooms
- Emptying bins
- Changing bed linen
- Washing, drying, folding, and ironing in the client’s home
- Light interior window cleaning where safely accessible
- Rotational tasks such as skirting boards, internal glass, cupboard fronts, and similar household upkeep
Tasks are agreed directly between the homeowner and the Home Assistant, based on the hours booked and the priorities for that visit.
Tasks outside of the scope of service
To protect both homeowners and Home Assistants, the following are generally outside the scope of the service unless specifically discussed and agreed:
- Heavy lifting or moving large furniture
- Working at height or using ladders
- External window cleaning
- Deep cleaning of hazardous or unsanitary areas
- Mould removal requiring specialist treatment
- Biohazard cleaning, bodily fluids, or pest-related cleaning
- Cleaning involving industrial chemicals
- Gardening or outdoor maintenance
- Childcare or personal care
- Pet care services unless separately agreed
- Electrical, plumbing, or maintenance work
- Any task that presents an unreasonable health and safety risk
Equipment and Products
Homeowners provide their own cleaning equipment and products. This allows the Home Assistant to work with the products preferred in each home and helps keep the arrangement simple and flexible.
InnerCircle may recommend high-quality, eco-conscious cleaning products, but product choice remains with the homeowner.
A professional, respectful presence
Home Assistants are expected to present themselves neatly and professionally, communicate clearly, and work respectfully within each home. They are introduced as trusted domestic support professionals, not employees of InnerCircle.
